Features

Everything between your music folder and the booth.

Library that keeps up

Incremental scans, search, filters, folders and saved views for tens of thousands of tracks. A moved file, or a whole folder on a new drive, keeps its history.

Audio analysis

BPM from the audio, beatgrid and bar 1, key, per-bar energy and structure: intro, groove, break, build, drop, outro.

Hot cues, placed

A Start, B Groove, C Break, D Drop, F Drop 2, G Outro, snapped to the grid. Move, rename or lock any of them in the editor.

Player & waveforms

A player that follows you across the app, colour waveforms and keyboard shortcuts. Match playing lists what mixes with the current track.

Accuracy

Measured, not promised.

Every version of the analysis is measured on 272 tracks whose Rekordbox grids and keys were set and corrected by hand by a working DJ, and its results are published, version by version.

Tools

One tool for every step, from sorting to posting.

Genre Review

Every track gets its genre.

Cueflow suggests a genre for every track from your folder names, in your own words. You review them fast, from the keyboard, and nothing changes until you approve.

  • Undo anytimeApproved and rejected tracks stay listed: change your mind and the catalogue follows.

Playlists that keep up.

Build your crates by hand, or describe them once and let Cueflow fill them. Either way, they end up in Rekordbox.

Audio editor

An editor made for DJ edits.

Shorten an intro, loop a groove, fix a grid: every change is non-destructive and exported as a new file, never over the original.

  • Cut, fade, gainCut, copy, paste, trim, split, fades, gain and normalize, with undo, redo and A/B listening.
  • Grids, cues and loopsVariable beatgrid, bar 1 and tap tempo; hot cues, memory cues, loops and sections snapped to the beat.
  • Edits join your libraryAn exported edit becomes a track of its own, with its grid, cues and notes, and its own playlist in Rekordbox.

Set BuilderNew

From one track to a whole set.

Pick the track you open with, the energy you want (warm-up, peak, steady, cool-down) and the BPM path. Cueflow proposes the order, and tells you why each track follows the last one.

  • Harmonic by defaultSame key, one step around the Camelot wheel or the relative key; a clash only when nothing else fits, and it says so.
  • BPM and energy in shapeSmall tempo steps along your path, and the energy measured in your tracks following the curve you chose.
  • You have the last wordLock the tracks you love, exclude the others, find another track for any spot, then rebuild around your choices.
  • Straight into RekordboxSave the set as a playlist, in order: it appears in the Rekordbox XML with its cues and grids.

Set Clips

From a two-hour set to ready-to-post clips.

Import the video of your set. Cueflow listens to it, finds the build-ups and the drops, and cuts clips on the bar, never longer than 60 seconds. Trim them on the timeline, export them vertical, post them.

  • Drops found for youThe bass coming back after a breakdown, build-ups, transitions and peaks, detected from the sound.
  • Cut on the barEvery clip starts and ends on a bar line, so the loop feels right on the first play.
  • 9:16 in one clickVertical crop or blurred background, exported with VideoToolbox on your Mac.
  • Captions & calendarOne-line captions with hashtags and the track playing, recognised from your library. Plan your posts.

Rekordbox

Rekordbox, without the risk.

Cueflow never opens your Rekordbox database. It reads the collection XML you export, and writes one you import, on your click.

  • A live XMLHot cues, memory cues, loops, beatgrids, playlists and folders, rewritten after every analysis at one fixed path.
  • Your grid comes firstImport your collection: ratings and missing BPM, key and genre come in, and your Rekordbox grid and cues are kept on export.
  • Import is your clickPoint Rekordbox at the XML once, then import tracks or playlists when you choose.

CorrectionsNew

Catch the wrong grids before the booth.

Cueflow compares its analysis with the grids in your Rekordbox and the BPM and key in your tags, and lists every track where they disagree.

  • Half a beat off, double tempo, wrong bar 1Each disagreement says what is wrong and by how much: +231 ms, 64 → 128 BPM, 8A → 9A.
  • Use Cueflow, or keep yoursOne key per track, or a whole folder at once. Every choice can be undone, and a kept value only comes back if it changes.
  • Fixed in Rekordbox at the next importAn accepted grid replaces the old one in the XML, and your cues follow it. Your files and your Rekordbox database are never touched.

How it works

Five steps, you stay in control.

  1. 1

    Scan

Point Cueflow at your music folder. Tags are read, never written.

  2. 2

    Analyse

BPM, key, grid and structure, computed on your Mac.

  3. 3

    Review

Compare tags with the analysis, approve genres and sort them into folders.

  4. 4

    Prepare

Adjust grids and cues, build sets and playlists, make edits and clips.

  5. 5

    Export

Rekordbox reads the XML. The final import is your click.

What's next

Coming in the next versions.

Soon

The signed Mac app

Signed and notarized by Apple: download, open, done. Every component is licensed for it, and its open-source licences are listed in the app.

Next version

Vocal detection

Where the voice comes in, bar by bar, and the E Vocal hot cue back on it, with a new model measured against hand-labelled tracks first.

Next version

Genres from the sound

For tracks outside your genre folders: a model that learns your own genres from the ones you already approved, still waiting for your OK.

Planned

Effects in the editor

EQ, filters, compressor, limiter, echo and reverb, pitch shift and time stretch for your edits, with presets.

Later: semantic search and set ideas from a local AI (Ollama), always optional, always offline, and never deciding for you.

Cueflow

Coming soon

Cueflow for macOS is in its final steps: signing and notarization by Apple. It will be available here.

FAQ

Questions

Does Cueflow modify my music files?

No. Tags, audio and file names are only read. Edits are exported as new files, sorting by genre makes copies, and cleanup moves files to the Trash after you confirm.

Where is my data?

In ~/Library/Application Support/Cueflow: the database, clips, edits and backups. Your music stays where it is.

What if I move my music folder?

Choose its new location in Settings and rescan: each file is recognised by its content, so cues, grids, notes and ratings follow.

Does the Set Builder use AI?

No. It follows rules you can read: Camelot key relations, BPM steps and the energy measured in your tracks. Every transition shows why it was chosen, and nothing is saved until you make it a playlist.

Does it need the internet?

No. Analysis models ship with the app; nothing is sent anywhere.

Does it change my Rekordbox library?

Never directly. Cueflow writes an XML file; Rekordbox imports it when you ask it to.
